Mayor Running Lake Run

The foodbank is very pleased that the new Test Valley Mayor Cllr Carl Borg-Neal has announced that he will be running in the Andover foodbank Lake Run and he will distribute the prizes at the event. Cllr Borg Neal has said that he cannot ‘wait to meet all the volunteers, helpers and carers who work in the Test Valley’. Carl has had a varied career, with Estimator Surveyor roles for a Diamond Drilling company and then an Architectural Aluminium Window Company, as a stud hand in a horse racing stable, attending the birth of the last Troy Colt, working in hospitality managing pubs including the original ‘Old Bull and Bush’ on Hampstead Heath, manager for an electrical wholesaler and running his own electrical contracting company as part of a partnership. Steve Holder will open the Andover Lake Run 2017

We are delighted to announce that Steve Holder will open the Andover Lake Run on 17 September 2017 Steve is a Hampshire firefighter who completed 20 marathons in 2016 as an emotional tribute to his late wife who died in February 2015 after a long battle with breast cancer. Steve ran one marathon for every year that he and his wife Sharon were married in events across the UK as well as in France, USA and Norway. His adventure included a midnight run, a double marathon and a rock ‘n’ roll themed event. Steve raised more than £10 000 for The Fire Fighters Charity, The Loss Foundation and Cancer Research UK. Andover Advertiser Fittest Company Cup

The Andover Advertiser is again sponsoring the Fittest Company Cup to encourage Andover-based companies to sign up for the 10K run. Entry costs £100 per team and includes spaces for up to 10 runners. The winner of the Cup will be based on the time of the company’s fourth place finisher. The names of runners can be finalised nearer the event but to guarantee starting positions and race numbers for your company runners please register as soon as possible. There will be a limit on the total number of companies able to enter. To register your company, please enter online via the ‘Race Entry – Team Entry’ tab at the top of this page.
